Poll shows Ossoff and Handel in a dead heat in the Georgia 6th

A recent poll conducted by Anzalone Liszt Grove Research found the Georgia 6th Congressional District special election in a dead heat with Democrat Jon Ossoff leading Republican Karen Handel by a margin of 48-47 percent, well within the 4 percent margin of error. It also shows only 5 percent undecided.

The poll was conducted on behalf of the Ossoff campaign.

It’s what one would expect given that Ossoff, the only Democratic candidate of any consequence, got just over 48 percent in last month’s first round with Handel likely getting most of the support that had gone to other Republicans who didn’t make it to the final round.

The poll was conducted from April 23-26 and surveyed 590 likely runoff voters. You can find the full poll here.

Most view the race as a referendum on Trump.  It’s also likely to be the most expensive House race ever.

Where would you guess the enthusiasm would be greatest, among those who want to spank Trump, or those who want to give Trump something else to crow about? Serious question.
