After brief speculation that former Vice President Joe Biden’s intense travel schedule suggested he was keeping his options open for a 2020 presidential run, he made it clear that’s not happening.
Biden was in New Hamphire Sunday to speak at an event honouring “the nation’s first all-female, all-Democratic congressional delegation at an annual state Democratic Party dinner.”
Anytime a politician with national standing shows up in New Hampshire this early in the cycle, folks will talk and they have.
“When I got asked to speak, I knew it was going to cause speculation,” he said to big applause. “Guys, I’m not running.”
I don’t know that many people seriously entertained the idea he would run. Maybe taking the chatter seriously was just a way to send him a message that if things were different he’d have been great.
