“Private Eyes” – Hall & Oates: No. 44 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles charts for 1982

“Private Eyes” is a 1981 single by Hall & Oates, also the title track from their album of that year. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for two weeks, from November 7 through November 20, 1981. It ended up at no. 44 for all of 1982.*

It was written by Daryl Hall, Sara Allen, Janna Allen and Warren Pash. The release date was Aug. 29, 1981 on the RCA label. The B-side is “Tell Me What You Want.”

*I use a web-based number generator to determine a year and chart position for songs I post. If I didn’t do that I would only post ’70s folk-rock, ’60s rock, ’50s jazz, and ’40s big band music.
