According to records filed with the Federal Elections Commission, Trump’s reelection campaign is out of the gate quickly, raising $13.2 million through three related organizations in the first three months of the year.
Almost 80 percent of the money raised by the three groups — Donald J. Trump for President, Trump Victory, and Trump Make America Great Again Committee — is from small donors.
Although their final FEC report for the quarter had not yet been submitted, the Republican National Committee says it raised another $41.3 million in the same period.
Enthusiasm based on having successfully elected their candidate has to account for much of the early funding success. We’ll see if the money continues to roll in if Trump fails at everything he tries, which has mostly been the case so far.
