Night Music: Roy Hamilton – “Unchained Melody” (1955)

Roy Hamilton (1929-1969) was an American R&B and pop singer who had most of his success in the 1950s. In addition to “Unchained Melody, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and “You Can Have Her” are songs that did well for him.

Very sadly he died in 1969 at the age of 40 not long after a stroke.

His son runs a tribute website, which you can find here. You can also find a short but useful bio by Ron Wynn at AllMusic here.

What an amazing voice.
