Contemplating Joe Biden’s future

imageOn a weekend with almost all political news focused on Donald Trump, I thought I’d mention the forgotten man of the moment, Vice President Joe Biden.

Huffington Post has a new piece in which they claim Biden is still thinking about running, and that he will make a final decision at the end of the summer.

I have no idea what his thought processes are, but it’s hard to imagine he doesn’t think about it from time to time. And while Biden’s press secretary put a damper on speculation after Beau Biden’s death as premature and inappropriate, the Wall Street Journal reported that Beau Biden had actually encouraged the Vice President to run.

Though undeclared, Biden is polling at around 10 percent nationally, behind both both Sanders and Clinton.

Nonetheless, he would be a credible candidate and as a life-long politician a chance to be on the big stage one more time is a compelling reason to go for it.

My guess, though, is that Joe has had enough and will find something else to do with his time after 2017.

It’s been a good run.
